Chess brought us together
Traveling Chess started with a simple idea: chess is more fun when you play it with others. Not just online, but in person—across a board, with a drink in hand, surrounded by good company.
We're based in Austin, TX, a city that loves bringing people together. We saw an opportunity to create something different—chess without the stuffiness, competition without the pressure. A place where beginners and experts could sit down and just play.
What started as informal meetups has grown into a community. We host regular events at venues around Austin, bring chess to private parties and corporate gatherings, and connect people who might never have met otherwise.
What we believe
